As when that timeframe passes, one of these might be in my possession.... Dream cars on all 3 fronts. also, Thank god for depreciation on the E63 AMG. it's 1/3 of the original MSRP nowadays

Careful it’s not the TDi or you’re not passing emissions!
Sidenote: How are the current TDi's in America going to continue to pass emissions?

oh it’s not gonna be a TDI. it’s gonna be a golf R! :)
and I don’t know. my guess is if they’re on dealer lots as of now they’re free game, but all cars in port are quarantined.

Damn. That's going to be some crazy shit that VW has to fix. And now I'm sad for all the TDi's that are just going to sitting in port, probably destined for the crusher.

Honestly I would probably pick the Merc first, than the VW, than the Dodge.

There’s a 99% chance that won’t happen. They’ll likely be fixed.

What would that entail then? What would the fix be?

Software installation at the dealer.

So you’re telling me that VW risked X amount of money, for something that is fixed with a software patch? Why? Why do that? Will there be any difference in the engines after the patch?

Some states don't have emissions, other states don't test diesels. It's likely that very few of the cheating TDIs will need to be taken off the road.

Less efficiency and performance.
